What happens during a BodyWork Session?

Our initial session together starts with a brief chat to discuss your main concern and to asses your current state. Different treatments, healing methods, and areas of focus will be based upon individual needs, intuitive direction, and therapeutic knowledge. The ancient and sacred techniques of Old World medicine like Fire Cupping, Moxa, energetic healing + Reiki, and aromatherapy may be used to improve circulation of blood + Qi to alleviate pain. For PP + Womb Healing work, there is special care and warmth (via Moxa) given to the abdomen, lower back, chest muscles, and corresponding Chinese medicine meridians.

What is Moxibustion? Fire Cupping? And their Benefits?

Moxibustion.… is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy consisting of burning dried mugwort on particular points on the body. Moxa is used to significantly warm regions and meridian points with the intention of stimulating circulation through the points and inducing a smoother flow of blood and qi. Benefits include pain management, increases healing times of Injuries, treatment of arthritic pain, improvements in headaches, migraines, benefits gynecological issues, menstrual pain, turning breech position of fetus, boosts immunity, protection against cases of flu and colds, improvements from digestive complaints, such as abdominal pain, and diarrhea as well as vitality boosting and longevity promoting benefits.

Fire Cupping

Fire Cupping..…The ancient technique, from East Asian and the African Diaspora, of cupping uses suction and negative pressure – provided by the use of Fire and the glass (or in ancient times, animal horns). Its main purpose is to loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system. Cupping also helps aid the relief of physical pain, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and immunity!
