About Divine Hippy Healing

Meet Kyla Spivey (they/them/me/she)

A birthworker and traditional healer based in LA/Tongva Land.

Hello friends, siblings and kindred spirits… Kyla here:)  Answering the ancestral call to birthwork, earth medicine, and community care… I affirmed my path to Traditional medicine, reproductive justice, and midwifery.  My role is to support birthing persons, in this sacred process of transition as they create/grow and deliver babies earthside….to mindfully tend to the fertile garden of our bodies and empower our vulnerabilities as we blossom together.

Qualifications… I am a certified full-spectrum Birth Keeper, Placenta Preparation Specialist,  and LES/CLE Lactation Support Counselor.

*Other : CPR/First Aid, Basic Living Saving, Blood Borne Pathogens, Food Handling + Preparation.

The Journey

As a small child, I always said, “When I grow up I want to make potions from
leaves and sticks.” The clarity of my deeper purpose was first stoked by learning about pregnancy and gestation as a psychology undergraduate. Further awakened by the maternal and infant health disparities for fellow BIPOC communities, I was impassioned to be of service and support. Upon learning how few Black IBCLCs there are in the US and California, I’m currently working towards IBCLC international board certification for clinical lactation care to increase representation and continuity of care. Entering my 3rd year of Traditional Chinese Medicine school, I am studying to become a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and primary care physician. Upon completion of this TCM graduate program, I will begin a Professional Midwifery/CPM program to provide reproductive health throughout the lifespan and “catch ya babies!”
